Set in South Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey, in 1977, this rollicking comedy is about the quest for power in the local garden club. Rhoda Greeleaf has a goal—to become president of her garden club, but the incumbent, Lillybelle, is a force to be feared. Despite help from the other club members, Rhoda reaches an impasse, until her daughter’s boyfriend comes up with a brilliant idea. He creates a talking plant, sure to win first prize at the flower show, thus earning the highest office for Rhoda. Of course, the best laid plans go awry, leading to hilarious mayhem.
Cheryl Hastings directed the cast of sixteen women and two men. The cast included Mary Kay Kelleher as Rhoda, Laura DeRico as Cora, Christine Reynolds as Lillybelle, and Jon Lamar as Vincent.
