Plays with Your Dessert
November 2, 3, 9, & 10
Five adult-themed plays, originally presented by the prestigious Actors Theatre of Louisville, run ten to
fifteen minutes each, and in that brief time characters are developed and placed in a situation, an obstacle
is presented, and the climax hits the audience with a quick smack between the eyes.
Some of the plays are laugh-out-loud funny, such as “Pillow Talk,” set in a marriage counselor’s office,
where the counselor’s therapy method involves beating your partner with a big stick.
“Eukiah”’s mood is the antithesis, with the focus on a frightened young ranch hand who overhears
something horrifying about the horses in the barn.
“Bed and Breakfast,” set in a B & B in England near Stonehenge, has a cast of Monty-Pythonesque characters and a plot filled with mayhem and murder.
“The Interrogation” and “The Man Who Couldn’t Dance” deal with romantic relationships gone sour.
Each one-act play had its own director, and nine actors play fifteen roles. This off-kilter
evening will have something for everyone.
We would like to thank Mrs. B’s Convenient Cuisine for providing the desserts at intermission.
