Chelsea Players fall production of The Outsider marked fifty years of directing by Chelsea Players co-founder Ken Lamothe. This comedy/satire skewers the absurdities of politics and still manages to uphold the basic ideals of democracy. Performances were October 18, 19, and 25 and October 26 at 2 pm at United Congregational Church Hall, 87 Broadway, Norwich.

THE OUTSIDER is a political comedy/satire about a new governor named Ned (!), who became governor when the previous one was involved in a sex scandal. Ned was a very efficient Lieutenant Governor but suffered panic attacks when speaking before the public. He's taken under the wing of an "expert" who will transform him into the "common man" the public wants. Meanwhile the expert has groomed an amazingly incompetent temp secretary to run for Lieutenant Governor.
